The Basics
The Canadian Baseball League is a 24-team APBA simulation draft league that began with the 1973 season. We use real franchise
names, keep players from year to year, and have some opportunity to build from the minor league system of the franchise you
own. We play a 162 game season from April to October, followed by playoffs. No prize money... we play for glory and the trophy.
Current annual dues are $15 US ($20 Cdn). Players are all over North America, from Florida to California, Pennsylvania to
Oregon, New Brunswick to British Columbia. About half are American and half Canadian.
We use all forms of APBA... one league veteran still plays the boards, others use DOS Baseball, but most play with
BBW, anywhere from Version 3.0 to 5.5, listening to Ernie Harwell whenever the time allows. We have played some games over
the internet using Netmeeting, but we do not use AIM or autoplay options. Most games are played the old-fashioned way... you
e-mail instructions to the other guy for the games he plays at his place, and he sends you instructions for the home games
you have. A few managers send out a micromanager for BBW opponents to use.
